Background:
Lassa fever is a single stranded RNA virus originally belonging to the Salmoviridae family, and it is a virus originating from animals. Its host is mainly rodents (such as wild mice in West Africa), which can be transmitted to humans and can cause viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF).
