Introduction
Yeasts are outstanding hosts for the production of functional recombinant proteins with industrial or medical applications, and suitable for large-scale production of recombinant eukaryotic proteins. Yeast expression system provides the advantage on production of secreted & intracellular targets and post-translational modifications, which may be beneficial for some recombinant proteins. The common yeast expression hosts used for recombinant proteins expression include Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pichia pastoris, Hansenula polymorpha, Yarrowia lipolytica, Arxula adeninivorans, Kluyveromyces lactis, and Schizosaccharomyces pombe. In Abvigen, various host cells and vectors are available for yeast expression.
